Non-rotating Stabilizer (Rubber Sleeve Stabilizer)
The non-rotating stabilizer, also known as a rubber sleeve stabilizer, is a specialized drilling tool engineered to minimize blade wear and prevent borehole wall damage. The assembly consists of a high-strength mandrel, copper washer, rubber sleeve, spacer sleeve, and a self-locking lower sub. During drilling operations, the mandrel transmits torque while the rubber sleeve remains stationary or slides independently relative to the wellbore wall. A precision locking clutch in the self-locking lower sub prevents sleeve rotation during critical washover operations.
